click on the magic wand tool on the left side. Then click on the background of the image, if it’s one solid color, or close, it will select if, and all you have to do is press the delete key. If its a solid color, but the magic wand doesn’t pick it up, adjust the tolerance on the right side. If your background consistes of many colors, you can either use the select tool, and hit delete, or use the eraser tool. Hope that helps
- open the image you want to edit in photoshop
- duplicate the original image in the layers panel.
- then erase the original layer. you’ll just need the duplicated version.
-go to masking mode, shortcut key for this is “Q”.
-then use a brush, shortcut key is “B”.
- start to paint all over the background you want to remove.
(note:on masking mode the default color would be translucent red.)
- when you’re done painting the background you want to remove, switch to unmask mode. do this by pressing “Q”
(you’ll see all the selected area highlighted)
- hit the command for cut “ctrl+c”
- create a “new layer”, and work on that one
- hit paste “ctrl+v” (this would paste the previously cut image)
- get rid of the background by erasing the old layer.
- by then you should have the clean image without the background.
(if you commit some mistakes along the away, the command for “undo” is “ctrl+z”)

OPTION# 2:
if you find the previous instruction too hard to follow, you could just use the eraser tool “E” then erase the entire background carefully… there you have it.
(but you’ll still have the best results using the first option)
I recommand you to use Google Picasa to manage and edit your pictures.
Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with folder names you will recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups.
Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organized. Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures ¨C you can email, print photos at home, make gift CDs, instantly share via Hello™, and even post pictures on your own blog.
