How to transfer Adobe Photoshop CS2 to another computer?

Posted by admin on February 22nd, 2010 and filed under adobe photoshop | 1 Comment »

I have adobe photoshop CS2 on my old computer and I want to transfer it to my new computer. I no longer have my disc, but the old serial shows up on the loading page when I start up CS2 on my old computer. I’ve tried to download the trial and then type in my old serial, but it doesn’t work.

How do I transfer it to my new computer?

If this isn’t possible, are there any good free photo editing programs I could get?

Unfortunately, you will need to re-install PH CS2 on your new computer with the original install disc – trying to use the old serial will not work, because a new activation is required.

As far as other photo editing software is concerned, there are a couple of viable options, but it does depend on your needs.

The GIMP, good choice for RGB-only photo editing: http://www.gimp.org/
    Paint.net: http://www.paint.net/
Krita (part of an open source office suite) – really very good, even supports high colour modes, but the installation can be difficult:

If you were using basic Photoshop features, Sumopaint is a handy and online photoshop ‘light’ app:

Anyways, I could list all the alternatives, but it is probably a better idea to visit this list:

Oh, lest I forget: there is a ‘Photoshop’-like version of the GIMP: http://www.gimphoto.com/

    Cheers!
