My attempt on photo retouching
I’ve learned SO much after watching Mama’s tutorial and I immediately tried it. It was fun and I practiced a few more times. This is one of the pictures I used. I found it on photo.net, it was distributed to be retouched. I didn’t use Mama’s powder but I did some enhancing myself. Something was wrong with the previous video I uploaded and I deleted it, I hope this one works now.

Buying Your Family Photo Prints On Line
Modern day photography has gone completely digital. From the time the shutter is pressed to the final image coming out of the printer, every aspect of picture taking is done in the camera and on a computer. When hiring a professional photographer to take your family portraits here are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to getting proper prints.
When choosing a photographer to take your next set of family photos be sure to take the time to research their printing process. Anyone can go to a big department store to get photos printed now that everything is digital, but that does not mean that you will receive the best quality for the money most photographers will charge.
A true professional photographer will have a specialized print lab that they send all of their jobs to so that the prints that you receive will be constant and guaranteed. Some photographers will have their own in studio printer to cut out the middle man and that is completely acceptable as long as the prints are done on quality surface with proper ink.
When choosing your prints having them on line is the fastest and easiest way to pick through the best shots. Most photographers will upload all of the shots taken on your photo shoot on a site that has a secure login and password so that no one can see your photos but you (and the photographer!) When logged on to the site you will be able to go through and choose the discussed number of photos you will be able to have printed and sometimes you can choose sizes as well.
Depending on the photographer you choose the photos you choose to have printed will be flagged and then retouched. The point to retouching a photo is to “clean up” and skin blemishes, scars, pimples, stray hairs, color balance and almost anything that my distract from having you look your best! Some photographers will do photo retouches free of charge when you purchase a package from their site or is may cost a small fee to have this added to your photos.
Take the time to ask your photographer questions about how they do their photo printing and what sort of post production they are willing to give your photos. Anyone can go to Walmart and have their photos taken for little cost but the quality of photo you will receive from a department store pales in comparison to the high quality photos and service you will get from a professional photographer.

5 Things You Must Know Before Choosing a Photo Restoration Service
You’re finally ready to get that old photo of grandma repaired. You know the one that’s been in that shoebox on the kitchen counter for the last 3 months? Somewhere 20 years ago someone spilled a Tab on it and it has a crease from where someone tried to fold it in half. Either way, it looks rough. You’ve scoured the internet and phone book looking for a photo restoration service, but there are so many choices, you just aren’t sure what you’re looking for.
There are a lot of great photo restoration companies out there that can help you out, all promising various services like free prints, free color correction, tone adjustments, etc. But here are the 5 things you MUST know before choosing someone to restore your image.
1. Those other free services they include? Worthless.
You want your photo restored because it’s damaged. But look! This company also offers free “tone correction” with each order. While you may be enticed by all the free “extra’s” many companies include, be advised that most photo editing software, like Adobe Photoshop, has built-in automatic tools that auto-correct things like contrast and color. Unfortunatly, many companies just press those buttons and send the image out. These adjustments should be done by hand, as the automatic settings often leave the photo looking worse than before
2. That company down the road you hired? They may send your photo to India
Sad but true. Like any service these days, your retouching work may be farmed out to some remote little office building in India or the Philippines. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, as you will probably get a great result. However if you have special requirements for your photo restoration job, they may not be translated very well and could cause your photo to need additional work when you see the proof. Simply ask the photo retouching company if they sub out work before you commit to anything.
3. Many of the services you might pay for, you can get for free
So you’d have the perfect wedding photo, if it weren’t for the red-eye and zit on your niece. You may be tempted to take this to a photo restoration company to have retouched. Don’t. Just download Picassa from Google (it’s free) and let it help you automatically correct this and other little photo enhancements. Leave the big problems for the restoration experts.
4. The inclusion of a “free print” should not be a deciding factor
Many companies offer a “free print” with your photo restoration job. Usually, these are printed on standard cheap photo paper on a home printer. If you really want the print, just use Walgreens or Walmart.com and pay the $0.11 to get one, or ask the company EXACTLY what you are getting.
5. Always get your photo scanned yourself
This one makes a bit more work for you, but don’t trust any company to include the scanning. Most will either overcharge you or will scan at a lower resolution. You can take the photo to Kinkos or any other similar store and have it scanned at 600dpi and send the company a digital copy via email. Also, if you have issues with the retoucher, they will only have a digital version and you won’t have to wait days or weeks for them to return your original photo before you can move on to another vendor.

Digital Photo Enhancement
Digital photography is a quite recent development that has converted the large masses into photographers. It is by far the easiest way to take a snapshot and allows the photographer to enhance its overall features later on. Because digital cameras use rewritable digital memory instead of film, you can have the convenience of taking good shots and eliminating the bad ones. It offers the easiest way of capturing good images and converting them to interesting art pieces.
Indeed, even digital photography has come a long way ever since the first digital cameras and computers entered the consumer market. The development of budget digital cameras has induced tremendous change in the world of photography, as everyone with a digital camera can take a photograph, upload it to their desktop computer and then share it with friends.
The birth of mass photography has also brought a niche for online photography related services. There are several companies that cater the consumers’ needs of this sort. Usually, they offer services such as digital image restoration, photo retouching, and photo editing or digital enhancement. These services bring satisfaction to photo hobbyists, as they are able to develop many “failed” photos into acceptable form.
Even though digital cameras allow immediate feedback on the shot, not all mistakes are easily noted on a small camera screen. Therefore many photographs that look quite right at first will actually need some attention before they can be used on the high resolution needed on for example printing them out.
Enter Digital Enhancement
Digital enhancement is the answer to many of the image quality problems mentioned above. It is the way to improve your shot and make it look more attractive, or the way to recover a photo from a lesser failure. With digital enhancement, you can easily increase the attractiveness of images by simply adjusting the brightness, contrast and sharpness of the image. You are also given the chance to enhance the color balance of the picture. The high resolution of modern digital cameras also allows for digital resizing and cropping later on.
There are many innovative ways to improve a digital photograph using these computer aided techniques. Anyone who is into digital photography can take advantage of the services that offered online, but most enthusiasts want to learn the way to do it themselves.
The professional Adobe Photoshop is a good tool that can also be used by hobbyists. The steep price can push users away from professional tools, but fortunately Photoshop Elements from Adobe or the Paint Shop Pro series from Corel have a cheaper price tag attached. There are also free alternatives available, such a GIMP, the GNU Image Manipulation Program.
Most photo retouch software tools are usable without much prior knowledge required. Experimenting is the key to success. However, advanced knowledge and techniques can also be taught on an online photography course. They are recommended for beginners and advanced users alike.
