A long time ago, people never dreamed that their drawings could be any more than what they were, simple artwork on a flat surface. Today there are many careers that incorporate drawing and computers or other types of mediums and the computers. There are many different classes and online courses taught on how to make digital art for those who are extremely artistic and those who don’t know that much about drawing or other art forms.
Several of the better known art school alumni have participated in various artistic designs using a computer. Graphic design and web design are but two of the many ways one could use their artistic and creative talents to produce beautiful, meaningful works of art with a computer or camera. One of the other popular artistic design areas that a lot of people don’t think about is sound engineering. This is also computer made by artists. Commercials or radio and television could have a sound recording laid over them to make some of the still photos come ‘alive’. There are several different computer software programs that will allow an artist to maneuver a photograph into something that is either completely different or unrecognizable or something a little more subtle then what it was originally. When it comes to computer generated artwork, people may think of the famous print of Marilyn Monroe which has four of the same photos only in different colors or tones. A child’s homemade drawing, a photograph or print could each be scanned through a regular scanner into a home computer and run through a software program to make it into something of a beautiful piece of artwork. There are many different ways to widen or shorten a picture so that the colors are running together or separated and this will change the entire look of a photo, giving an individual a new piece of artwork.
Computer animation and generating art with a computer is good for a lot of people because it is easier and not messy like other mediums of art. Paints, pen, pencils, oils and acrylics can all end up getting a person dirty. An additional benefit of using computer graphics to generate artwork is that the computer is more forgiving then the canvas. The erase button is easier to use than trying to paint over something of a bright color or a mistake with a pencil.
When a person wants to learn about the computer world of digital art or how to make digital art for fun and profit, they could attend photography schools in Canada or one online. For either type of photography school, there is financial aide or grants available to qualified students to help pay for this type of education. Some of these courses will help a graduate find a job in the field that works with computers and art.
