It comes with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc. Get the latest version of it and you really don't need anything else, unless he wants to get into Flash animations. Flash is made by Macromedia and you can do more than make animated internet ads with it. Games and applications are possible as well. A graphic interface HTML compiler/editor is great, as well. GoLive comes with the Adobe Creative Suite, but others are available. Wish him luck as this field is getting quite crowded and competition is fierce.
