I want to learn Photoshop (CS3) from how to draw a line to make a virtual person. How long will it take, and yea can you give me the name of books and professional tutorial websites available online?
it will take an intense 2 years, i’d say. just join stumbleupon and tell it you love graphic artistry and that’s it, and you will be drowning in photoshop tutorials.
Well I know It took me…. six months to become professional with a different program… and three months for another person… it varies between person to person. Depends how long you work with it.
To get really well with photo shop CS3 im going to guess…. six months to a year to get extremely well.
I have been using Photoshop for almost 6 years… and I’m constantly learning new methods and techniques. It’s never ending. You can learn the basics in a couple hours though.
Depends how much time you dedicate to it and how willing you are, same with everything. What you put in is what you get out.
Ive been using Photoshop for a few years, I can use it pretty comfortably for my needs but I couldnt draw things from scratch in it. Im sure I could pretty quickly after looking up a few different tutorials though.
Find some tutorials and go through it like they do, do the same again and again and again after that. Then try it yourself, try and mix the techniques used until you feel comfortable, its a good idea to favourite the good tutorial websites too, I know some are rubbish and dont explain very clearly.
You should start out searching for photoshop tutorials they have varying levels of difficulty. Try this site http://www.good-tutorials.com/ it’s just one of them there are plenty more if you search. As far as books I recommend “Teach Yourself VISUALLY Adobe Photoshop CS3″ and “Adobe Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a Book”
Depends on how much time you’re willing to devote to it. I never took a class and had the program for almost two years with just messing with it. Didn’t make a dent so I signed up for a class… Practice is the only way to learn a hands on program.

You will never learn ALL the tricks, but a basic knowledge can be had in about a day. Suggest a book or CD to get you started
