Website Design Sydney | Hopping Mad Designs

This morning I was talking with a customer who wanted us to include music on his website. This made me think about the normal perceptions people have about their cheap website design and how often I have been distracted by items that are totally unrelated to a business and how they affect my experience on those websites and how many times I didn’t become the customer of the business because I had problems finding information on their products or services.

Here are some tips to avoid those cheap website design and web development traps in order to get the best out of your website for customers and yourself.

1.Playing Frank Sinatra: I love Frank Sinatra and his music but I would never put any of his music on my website. The simple reason is that while the music is playing in the background, visitors to my website will not be able to concentrate on the information that is present on my website. Visitors turn into customers when they can find information related to service they are looking for. Not because they liked music on a website. However if I was a music or entertainment company this would have been different. A good example of a website using music very well is hitparade.com.au .

2. Playing hide and Seek: I have seen many cheap web designer or websites developed with great visual techniques. Websites that have WOW factor when you look at the graphic design, but it becomes very difficult to find information on those websites. Until or unless you are a graphic design or an art company, there is no need to go wild on high-end graphics at the cost of content and website navigation. It is important to strike a balance between aesthetics and usability.
3. Making it difficult to become your customer: Websites ask their visitors to put in some information so that businesses can call the visitors and follow up the customer. However, I go to websites that have umpteen questions before customers can submit their inquiry. This is a very efficient way to lose your customers. Any form should only ask for basic information you need to be able to contact your customer. This process makes it easy for your customer to contact you and also allows you as a business to give a basic personal touch as you talk to the customer and get more information at that stage.

In short, make browsing your website a pleasant experience by striking a balance between essence web design and aesthetics. The motive of your cheap web design and web development should be to convert visitors into customers and not driving them away.

If you think through the above points, you will realize that a lot of information is already available to you (especially if you are an established business). Your website in many terms is an extension of your physical business. The above mentioned information should be available to you in terms of corporate knowledge. Talk to your sale people, look at your customer files and your sales pattern, try and source information from your suppliers. For a new business, it could include analyzing your competitors.

Web Design Sydney : Hopping Mad Designs

Dormant clients are scary. And for a company like ours they would be customers looking for web design , graphic design or other website design services.

They take up room in your database and keep marketers, salespeople, and business owners awake at night or at least they should.

The question is, why are they dormant? Why are they in your database and what brought them into your database in the first place? This requires investigation on your part and you need to understand what the client bought or how they got onto your database for you to know why they are dormant. There will be several categories throughout your database , such as one-time buyers ,  responding to an advertisement or inquired through your website. The next step is to connect what they bought or what they were initially interested in to an offer of form of communication that you can make to them, to reignite their interest.

For example, if they bought a product or service form you in the past, establish how you can make contact with them around this historical purchase and identify if they were happy with the product/service. Inquire as tho their current or future needs around your business offering. If they do not have any further need for what you offer, ask if they would like to continue hearing from you through email or infrequent mail. There are many ways you can do this, but you will not get all the answers at once, unless you can talk to them on the telephone which in some cases is unlikely.

What this highlights to business owners and marketers alike, is the need to have well established, regular methods of communication with your customers. Communication is not just about advertising your product and services, but developing effective, two-way communication between you and your market segments. Your communication needs to be adapted to your segments. Not one business in the world operates in one single market segment, not even the local plumber, dentist, hairdresser or local restaurant or pub – yet so many businesses treat all their complex markets exactly the same way.

The other point this brings up is the need to regularly undertake brutal culling of your growing database. When I hear of some : web design , website design sydney or graphic design sydney companies tell me that they have a database of over 5000 clients, I am amazed when they cannot tell me the percentage split of those that are actively buying services or the percentage that are in active communication with the business. Unless you can say 100% of those 5000 names on that database are in communication with you regularly or are buying your services, get rid of them. Remember, not all customers and clients will remain active or need to be put onto your database or need to stay active on your database.

I have a three-strike client communication rule if a client has been put onto our database for whatever reason, if we do not get a response under a set of criteria, they are culled. They can always be put back on in the future, but I would rather focus my marketing dollars on active clients and prospects than those who just wanted a single transaction.

Old school tattoo designs: the lowdown

Traditional tattoos possess a sense of nostalgia. Maybe the tattooed person had special comics or movies growing up which included a character with a particular tattoo; maybe the wearer would like to link themselves with a specific group or historical age.

Many of the more traditional designs are bright, fun and full of color. Because of this, lots of people select them because they are good fun.

At the moment, loads of people who make the decision to be tattooed with old school tattoos do so with a sense of irony. However, this does not have to be the case. Having a traditional design tattooed onto your lower back is an excellent method of combining then and now – the marking may be traditional, but the placing is not.

Love is an ever-popular symbol in tattoos, whether of the heart or someone’s name or of a rose. A horseshoe tattoo signifies good luck and fortune.

Birds of flight are also becoming more popular. They can be positioned in the middle of your lower back facing forwards if you’d prefer a symmetrical tattoo design, or placed off-centre to include a beautiful plunge; it’s your choice. An eagle symbolizes strength and bravery, and a blue swallow demonstrates a return to home and life.

There are also heaps of melancholic designs you might like to think about. The most morbid of all would be the skull. It symbolizes death. Perhaps you could include a few flowers to make it more personalized? In addition, the Grim Reaper is becoming popular, but there is nothing stopping you from incorporating other images. Further, there are the usual sword and barbed-wire designs. Paradoxically, a tattoo design which include barbed wire could be very suitable for your lower back given the curves of the wire.

Sea-themed designs have always been popular. They include tattoos of, e.g., anchors, stars and mermaids. Anchors are a cool inclusion due to their curvaceous shape. In addition, it is possible to have names (maybe yours to avoid the need for removal surgery if a relationship breaks down) included in the design. Stars are excellent too, because they can be shaped to trace the femininity of the base of your back. A mermaid is a great way of accentuating your femininity, and employing the long hair of the mermaid to curve your lower back.

There are heaps of old school tattoo designs out there, so take some time to research and decide which ones you are drawn to, then maybe think about whether you want to change it to mould it into the ideal tattoo for yourself. They have lasted the test of time, so take advantage of that!

What must you consider when making a choice in respect of rose tattoo designs?

At its essence, the rose is a spectacular flower; it’s straightforward to see the reasons folks want rose tattoo designs tattooed onto their lower back. The curved essence of the blossom is perfect for the curved area of that part of the body, and lends femininity and beauty.

Loads of women are attracted to the rose due to its many meanings. Needless to say a red version means love and passion; a red rose with no thorns implies immediate love. The round head of the rose stands for fertility. All through the years, roses have been cultivated to give components used in a variety of lotions, potions and medicines. In addition, the rose has divine meaning, as many associate its splendour to religious leaders.

For lots of people, the rose is a symbol of peace. Each and every person can recognize the value of the splendour and perfume of the flower.

A rose is a magnificent thing. It is highly perfumed with magnificent petals. Understandably, it does not have to stay in the ground. For many years, many people have acknowledged the exquisite physical attributes of the rose and have tattooed their skin with their personal interpretations of its beauty.

The rose is one of a number of traditional tattoos that is currently experiencing an increase in regard. In addition, there’s also a growing amount of women who are having designs which include roses inked on their lower back. They are taking the traditional symbol of the rose and merging it with modern concepts.

When reviewing your decisions of which designs you want to go for, you will need to think of three points.

First up, which part of the rose do you want to include. Not all rose tattoo designs need the rose to be included; a straightforward bud could be. This bud symbolizes development, as well as innocence. Consider what you desire your tattoo to have and amend your design to match it.

The second thing is whether you want the rose to be alone or supplemented by other designs. Examples could be the stalk (which would provide any mirror-imaging you may need for the tattoo’s placing on your lower back), people’s messages (maybe of your children or other relatives), fairies (which can show a hopeful approach to life, cheer, cheekiness, depending on the type of fairy chosen), butterflies (which emphasize gorgeousness, poise and the delicacy of human life), bees (which mean busyness, sweetness and selfless sacrifice) or hummingbirds (elegant birds). There’s heaps of elements you might want to think about including, but try to make sure that they mean something special to you, other than just looking awesome!

Finally, you may want to consider is what colors to use. Typically, roses are red, however this need not be the case with your tattoo design. You are free to choose any color your imagination can invent, but try to make sure that you appreciate the implication of different colors. These vary from person to person, but a few illustrations could include black (which normally symbolizes death, but which could easily be used as a mark of respect to a relative who has recently passed away), blue (which usually suggests tests await the wearer and you will work to succeed at them), golden (which traditionally suggests achieving success and fortune), yellow (which traditionally stands for birth and contentment) and white (which nearly always signifies purity). Choose your chosen colors carefully; there is no reason why you need only have one color.

Make sure that you are 100% content with the design for your tattoo. Take as much time as you can to decide what elements you want to use, and have a great time doing it!

Fungus Designs | Designer Laptop Bags Mumbai

Hear it from Raghu himself.

“Looks like we shall leave our children, a considerably uglier planet than what we inherited.

Our cities are getting uglier by the day. Playgrounds are being replaced with shopping malls. Styrofoam cups are replacing porcelain cups. The sale of plastic flowers keeps on growing. There is a hole in the ozone layer. 43% of urban population is obese and lives in matchboxes.

So what is our response? We crowd to the Louvre to steal a glimpse of a Monet. We buy wall paper with scenery on it. We download the screen saver with the Swiss Alps.

Too late, too little.

Can we do something more substantial to beautify the world around us? Can we, in our little way, improve the aesthetics of something we see around us, every day?

For instance, the plain black laptop bag? Big, bulky, shapeless just like the majority of the men and women who carry them!

That so many of us carry the black bag is as much a telling commentary on the lack of choice as much as the fact that our aesthetics have been overwhelmed by a formidable marketing machinery that seeks to generate profits by creating an epidemic of sameness.

That’s the raison de Etre for Fungus Designs.

Some of the world’s finest graphic designers, from Colombia, Argentina, India, Australia and Europe have agreed to lend their support to the crusade aginst ugliness.

Their designs shall adorn the laptop bags of Fungus.

They shall be your raised fist against the black army.

They will annihilate the ‘designs’ of the black army through a combination of color, wit and visual adventure.

Fungus Designs is a unique designer laptop bag company based in Mumbai. It was started by Raghu Bhat, an award winning Executive Creative Director with J Walter Thompson Advertising. It uses graphic design and illustrations from young talented artists all over the world to create highly attractive laptop bags that are sleek, stylish and distinctive.
