How many graphic design works should we include in our portfolio?-distance learning graphic design
As much as we would like to present manygraphic works that we created in order to show ourtalent in developing concept and our abilities in working with graphic and design digital programs it is not wise. The recommendation is to choose the best ten works we designed inorder to make a very good first impression on a client or a working place.
The works we should include in our graphic design portfolio could be: DVD design, CD design,
calendar design and graphic sketches that will show our ability in depth and perspective.
3D graphic design, Flash programed sites, Dream weaver programed sites, branding for companies and few illustrations if we intend to become a graphic illustrators.
The client or employer would most likely prefer to watch our work in a site. In few minutes
he can receive our portfolio, preview it and make a decision if he likes our works
A portfolio should consist of graphic design projects, preferably ones that have been ordered and paid for by clients. There are several ways to present show or talent in a graphic design portfolio: high quality printed album of digital works, flash presentation,Photoshop presentation or a link to a free of charge site that will host our works. Our portfolio should be the shop window of our knowledge in digital graphic which we gained during our studies of graphic design. Interior Design: Why Practical and Appealing Should Meet in Your Office
An interior design company can work wonders on your office. Interior design involves so much more than making colors match. In fact, hiring the right service can actually help turn your office into a productive, pleasant environment that welcomes employees and clients. Find four reasons why practical and appealing should meet in your office.
A quality interior design service can help you personalize your work space. Show a hint of personal taste and give your office an individual flavor. Tying together elements is not always easy and doing too little can make a room completely bland. Your interior designer can provide insight into what colors and textures work well together and which do not.
Properly utilizing space is another important job for your interior designers. Rather than just placing furniture and decorations in an office, they must also figure out the best way to space them. Proper spacing will look good and it will allow your employees and clients to move freely. An office that feels too cramped or too empty can actually have a negative impact on productivity. Let your professional interior design service bring practical into the equation.
Everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to color and style. That doesn’t mean we know how to implement these preferences so they look good together. Your interior design company can help you avoid a professional décor faux pas. Avoid clashing patterns or colors that just seem too busy. A reliable interior designer will leave you with a look you will love for a long time.
You most likely have a few items you truly love out of your collection of office decorations. A creative interior designer can take those items and build an entire area around them. Give your favorite pieces center stage with a design that compliments your good taste and eye for style. A Toronto interior design company can make your office the productive haven it should be!

The Most Powerful Photo Editing Software Features That You Should Have
No matter how good the photograph is it will most likely require some type of editing. Even professional photographers will touch up their pictures no matter how good they are. With digital photography photo, editing is simple with all the free software that is available. Once you become more involved in this aspect of photography, you will probably want to invest in software that is a little more advanced.
Another thing people fail to realize is all the uses their photos have. They are not just for sticking in a hard cover album and forgetting about. One great way to use your photos is by creating a photo storybook. This can be most professional looking when the photo editing software is used.
If you are new to photo editing then when you go to find a free software to download find something that is easy and basic. If you have a great deal of difficulty in understanding or applying the editing features, you may become frustrated with digital photography on the whole.
An easy program will allow you to fix your photos with a few easy steps. Many times photos have a lot of material in them you just do not want. Your primary interest is the subject. Use the cropping tool to scale down your picture and bring it in closer to the subjects.
Make sure the software will give you the options for sharpening your colors and creating contrast if necessary. In addition, you need to be able to resize your pictures. You would do this if you want to print smaller versions or send them to a friend. When you do this step, you want to be sure that none of the quality of the picture is lost. Good software will ensure this does not happen.
You want to be able to add some special effects to your photos. For example, you may want to put some nice frames or boarders around them. Fonts are another important effect for the text you want to put with your picture. Therefore, you want software that will give you multiple choices.
One very important thing to remember when downloading your editing software is to make sure it will work properly with your type of computer operating system. You also want to choose a program that is not going to be complicated in downloading. Ideally, you will want one with a wizard feature to step you through this process.
Once you have decided on your photo editing software make sure you take the time to read the help material thoroughly. This way you are more likely to make use of everything the software has to offer. Once you outgrow the basic editing software, you can continue on to some that have far more advanced options. Often in anticipation of doing something, wonderful with our photos we jump into editing them without first learning the techniques then naturally, we become disappointed with the outcome. So practice with your camera, and have patience with your editing and there is no doubt that you will have some excellent photos.

What are the Benefits of Graphic Design and Why Should You Care?
If you run a business and you have any form of corporate identity then you should care very much. How you present your company to your chosen market is fundamental to its success.
The graphic design process is crucial to any business, making it stand out head and shoulders from the competition. Whether it is the design of an entire corporate campaign or the creation of a simple company logo it still has to work effectively for you. There are four critical elements that should be seen in every logo design:
• It must be describable
• It must be memorable
• It must be effective without colour
• It must be scalable
Fairly obvious really but how does your logo stand up to these criteria? How does your company identity stand out from the competition?
Ask yourself why something is designed in a certain way. Consider why a particular colour is chosen instead of its opposite. Why use this font? Why include this particular graphic here? A good designer will think through every detail of a design and only include elements that will add to the design and re-enforce the brand.
Once your business is up and running you may think that any form of corporate identity will act to represent the company, visually creating a brand by default. Think again. If you look at the large corporations you will notice that their brand strategy stands the test of time for many years.
Many companies never change their logo design dramatically but only make the smallest of changes to keep the design looking modern and refreshed.
Benefits:
• Professional image
• Considered and long-lasting design strategy
• Make your company look bigger
• Stand out from your competition
• More effective

Design ability is strengthened through instruction in printing, pre-press, and finishing operations. A fourth semester course prepares students for employment through career and portfolio development. The graphic designer’s employment opportunities are varied and competitive. Designers find employment as graphic designers and graphic artists with advertising agencies, printing companies, corporate art departments and publishers; as online web site developers; in public relations firms; and as free-lance designers. Earning potential increases with extended and varied work experience. Lean more at www.westerntc.edu

But what else should I do?? I really want to have it put together by January and I need some helpful tips and opinions. Thanx!

How should I display my graphic design for my college art show?
Should I mount it on foam board? Should I frame it? I’m a senior in college and sadly this is the first opportunity I’ve had to exhibit my graphic design work. I have a gallery opening coming up in April that is exhibiting my work. I am not sure if it is proper for graphic design to be framed or mounted. I am hoping the answer is mounted because I am a poor college student and frames are expensive!! Most of my work is posters, logos, lots of grungy stuff. Any answers are most appreciated! THANKS!
