muvee Survey Uncovers That More Than 40 Percent of People Have Been Caught Naked* on Camera; Participants Share Insight into Online Video and Photo Habits
San Francisco (PRWEB) July 25, 2008
muvee, the leading maker of automatic video editing software, conducted a survey of more than 100 people at San Francisco’s Pier 39 and surrounding areas to find out the real deal when it comes to people’s video/photo habits.
Though digital and video cameras were a plenty, what the survey uncovered was shocking – 100 percent said they take photos and videos for the purposes of sharing yet 82 percent do nothing with the content they create.
What’s more, muvee was also able to glean interesting insight into the personal lives of its participants – some mildly inappropriate, some quite funny, and all thought provoking.

Get Great Ideas On How To Implement Both Audio And Corporate Video Production
Most corporate executives understand the value of using a corporate video production presentation to either introduce or promote a product or service for their company. Certainly, the goal and top priority will be to ensure that the video production will definitely stand above all the rest and that it would be attractive to their potential target audience.
For this specific purpose, most companies go to the pros for professional support. One of the most significant decisions you will have to make is the choosing of a production company or technical engineer that’s reliable and qualified enough to produce a top notch corporate video production.
Putting together a list of everything that you want in the production with a scheduled completion date would be a great ideal before you discuss doing business with anyone. Share this list with the individuals you’re meeting with and ask them if they are capable of producing and finishing the project successfully.
It’s no secret that people from all over world, marketing and promoting their goods and services use corporate video productions in many different fashions. For small businesses, employing a production company to do a project of this magnitude is probably not a good thing since it would require a large amount of money.
In many cases most corporate staff members must use their innovative imagination when producing a video production project on a budget. Working in a professional studio environment can really be fun and exciting. Here are a couple of tips on how it’s done.
Choose a first-class place, which includes state of the art station equipment. This will be significant because you need to have your video sound and feel professional. Potential clients would watch the video footage first before they setup an interview and therefore, you want it to make the best impression possible.
Your storyboard should be laid out perfectly in order to produce an award winning presentation. You can do this yourself or get a producer or director to help you. There’s no question your video must be able to get your point across clearly to your viewers. Nevertheless if you feel you’re fully qualified to get the job done yourself, by all means go for it.
If you have the budget for it, then using a third party for your video project isn’t such a bad idea. In any case, most of the trained professionals know exactly what needs to be done. They are able to help tweak your ideas or create ones with you as required. Do realize that there is a lot that goes into the creation of a video project and as a result, you are going to surely need some help along the way.

Don’t Give Up Your Current Job
During the good ‘ole days of college my prof and Yoda, Dan, handed us this little treasure. He articulated that the hardest part of being a graphic designer wasn’t choosing color options nor fonts. He carried on on pronouncing that the most arduous portion of being a designer wasn’t establishing that your customers web page appeared coherent across the countless web browsers, OS and computer monitor combinations. Nor was the application of press-checking a print project while attempting to meet the clients anticipations the most challenging component.
The most ambitious and difficult part of being a graphic designer in the data age was demonstrating one’s self worth to oneself and desiring to get a brief flicker of positive reinforcement at times. This has been my experience in the 13 years since I first doing graphic design on an old Pentium 75 with 16mb of RAM. In the data age, every child with a pc and an online connectedness can download any variant of Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Flash, Dreamweaver and Final Cut Pro within a a couple of hrs time. These are the minors that persist in making our chores as trained pros progressively difficult. Since these tools are so promptly accessible to anybody with time to kill and a little purpose, these people can now address themselves as “graphic designers” or “web designers” or “video editors” or “photographers”. I’d bet my big toe that some of you reading this can think of at least two folks in your family that have self-appointed themselves one of those preceding titles of respect; a cousin, a brother, a sibling or even a neighbor probably call themselves one of those deeds.
This phenomena isn’t restricted to only marketing related businesses. Audio engineering, computer aided design, 3D animation, motion graphics, copy writing, film making, video game creation and many others all fall into this category of careers that the general public think that anyone with a computer and a piece of software can now do from their mothers basement. FOR FREE. It makes it very difficult for those of us who have been doing this for longer than a month to find sustainable work. We are not only competing with these “kids” but advertising agencies and other professional companies and agencies all fighting for the same piece of pie. In this economy the pie has become increasingly smaller and smaller.
I chose a career in creative services because I thought that it would allow me to flex my creativity and help bring a business much needed business. I was passionate about it for a few years then landed my first “real” job with a small design shop in Nashville, TN. When I say small, I mean SMALL. It was myself and a veteran designer that manned the creative ship into the waters of ignorant clients. The year was 2000 and the American economy was enduring a recession; not like the recession we’re facing today, but money was still tight for the record companies where the vast majority of our business originated from. Not only was the recession hurting business, but the record labels were beginning to feel the loss of sales from the common music consumer as they realized they could start to download an album that retailed for $17.99 for free. The panic in the air was palpable as we walked through the big doors of Capitol Records Nashville. You could see it in the executives eyes right next to pricey nose-job that the head exec had just purchased.
So, here we are, 10 years later, and the creative services market has endured in declining as a outcome of bootleg piracy of music, films and software. The jobs are harder to find and the syndicate of creative types has heightened dramatically. My self-assurance as one of these creative eccentrics has continually swayed as we all altercate over the pie and my bills keep going up. I think I’ll go drive a bus.

How A YouTube Channel Can Help Your Business Marketing Strategy
It is free to create a YouTube channel, but that does not mean it is the easiest thing in the world to use it effectively for your business promotion. The main thing is still content, as it is with copy writing, but the visual impact can be much more dramatic so we are seeing a surge of corporate activity on YouTube. If you do it right you can generate interest in your products and/or services and perhaps increase revenues thereby.
How do you accomplish this, specifically? We begin to make specific examples of the general tips below, ones that relate to our particular firm:
- Content is still king: Nothing can take the place of quality content. If your notion is to have your video go viral and be shared, linked to and talked about, you have to make it share- and link-worthy.
- Multiply the effect: You will want to do everything possible to promote the video, and get your first group of recipients (of your promo e-mail, for example) to pass it along to a friend or coworker. This can cause the viral effect, where your audience increases geometrically.
- Replay interest: The video should make viewers want to see it again (and again and again, if possible) so give it some depth and value.
What kind of content?
Obviously, you want the content to reflect the strengths and desirability of whatever it is you are promoting. Many of the most successful viral videos are comedy, daredevil escapades and how-to infomercials. Think carefully about whether or not you should go any particular route (comedy, instructional, talking head) and, as always, remember that it is easier to talk about good content than create it.
It would be a good idea to see what your competitors are doing with YouTube, and take inspiration from the best of the bunch. Never plagiarize, and do not waste time looking for shortcuts or tricks. It will take less time to do it correctly from the start than try to maneuver and manipulate. There are no shortcuts and there are no magic bullets. There is just hard work and persistence (and a little bit of luck)!
Important elements
In marketing you need to tell the customer, site visitor or ad reader what it is you want them to do. This is referred to as the call to action. Think of a good TV commercial or print ad. There is usually no question what the advertiser wants you to do (buy!) and they tell you that directly, sometimes several times. Often a YouTube video will start and finish with this call to action, along with branding information (logos, etc.) and contact information. Voice overs should also emphasize the expectation on the viewer.
It is essential to promote the YouTube video in places other than YouTube, as well. You should be leveraging all of the top social networks. Toyota and other huge companies now use Facebook as a destination for sending ad viewers, as these pages can be customized in little time and offer more flexibility than corporate Web sites. You should send messages with Twitter, e-mail and all the other tools that link you to the world of people on the Internet. Therefore, you will want to post your links or embed the videos on all your different walls, your blog, MySpace, affiliate sites, directories and every other place you can think of.
Other tips
Some YouTube veterans say that the best time to upload and launch a video is on Friday or Sunday. Others argue for other days and even specific times of day. Do some research on this, and when you do start uploading, always track your results so you can get your own feel for when to launch. There are a lot of offers online to train you in YouTube promotion, some of which are free and some of which cost a pretty penny. It may be that you will get some value from these, but try all the free info first. If you do consider paying for expertise, get references and ask for specifics.
Like any online destination with search functions, YouTube rankings are the result of certain algorithms in which specific criteria can be very important. Here are some basic ways to optimize videos for better ranking:
The same tags and metadata that work for pages work for YouTube channels, of course, so this basic SEO task will help rank and index your video in search results. This is not 1996 and there are many other things to do besides adding tags, but there is still a good rationale for doing this today.
Google ranks YouTube videos, too, so an optimized channel can help you more than you might think. There are so many variables in a marketing campaign that even the best tracking and measuring may not reveal how things are working (not exactly, anyway). Keep at it, keep refining your methods, and you will get better at it over time. YouTube can really help!
